Sweet justice for Man United
Winning 4-0 at half time against the backwards thinking thugs of AS Roma. Sweet justice for all those beaten by the cowardly Italian scum police.
Im sure all the Roma fans will be treated with respect by our Police......
................5-0 lovely!

Totally outclassed 'em. Great game!
- an' that's the only compliment you'll get from this Toffee (unless you end up against Chelsea...)

Ah thats right brush it all under the carpet Great football shame about the 'fans'
I'll explain why i'm saying that: all week we've been hearing from Man Utd how the game at Old Trafford wont be marred in the same way as that of the game in Rome and how Roma fans will be welcomed and can visit without fear. Yet that happens tonight. That happened because not enough was done to prevent the thugs (from both sides) from turning up and protect the real fans. The club and the police both have to take responsibilty for that.

Typical cluless Gooner (no offence Jasey ) the police were actually applauded for their proactive policing, Sky had camera's all over the street purely looking for the odd scuffle, which it what it was a few scuffles, handled superbly by GMP.
What are yiou doing in a champions league thread anyway ?? surely you should be here ? https://www.scoobynet.com/sports-35/...ter-again.html

Came back from the gym, watched the first 5 mins of the match, thought "Hmmm. it'll probably take a bit to get going, I'll have a shower". Came out of shower - 3 : 0 !!
Awesome display by Man U. Roma looked like a bunch of headless chickens by the end of it all !

lol at having a dig about Arsenal being cr4p, i'm not denying that and said Man U played superb football in my post above. That doesn't mean you can brush under the carpet what a disgrace to English football last nights scenes were.
And it seems Chelsea last night and London police had a far better clue how to control fans and prevent any violence between Chelsea and Valencia fans that had been brewing but never got a chance to happen.

Just a shame that Chelsea and Arsenal can't control their players (Carling Cup)

A few scuffles? Perhaps but not a few supporters, it was crowds of people involved not just a couple of mindless thugs being morons. It certainly wasn't what the club had promised would happen which was a trouble free game. They had one Roma supporter interviewed, a middle aged man, who said he didn't go into the stadium to see the game after travelling to see the game because he felt it was too dangerous. Thats a sad state of affairs. Or perhaps the news footage lies Funki? And nothing to do with Sky, it was all over BBC and ITV.

As for your foolish middle aged man, cuts off nose to spite his face, pure martyrdom.
I know all the news channels had the same footage, of the 2 or 3 rucks, it was no where near what happened in Rome and the only reason it got so much coverage was because of what happened in Rome, media hypiong it up all week, and if you want to criticise Utd for what they said prior to this game then surely you should applaud them for warning Utd fans before the match in Rome where they warned the supporters of potential trouble spots, as for your
and said Man U played superb football in my post above
Come on face it you're just a disgruntled ABU who can't stomach seeing Utd play quality footbal at the highest level when all your team of Prima Donna's can do is pretend to play champagne football with no end result.
I wasn't actually having a dig at poor old Arsenals misfortune, just a bit of tongue in cheek banter as we do in here, your agenda was elsewhere.
So nice to see the continuous replays on Sky this morning, rumour has it the Glazers will finally be changing the club name to the Salford Globetrotters

Can we talk about the football chaps?
So United fans who would you prefer to play in the Semi's? For me it would be AC. I think the pace in the United attack would be too much for their aging team. Although I think Kaka is the best player in the world.

****ing hell!!!!! I was there Probably the best match I've ever been to!!
It took us ages to get inside because there were so many people fighting with the Police! People were throwing bottles and beer cans at the horses and the riot Police kept pushing people back. In the end I told my mate to stick by me and I pushed my way through Got to our seats just in time to hear the end of the Rocky music before kick off, the place was packed so god knows where the rioters were going, if they ever had tickets! The place was absolutley buzzing and I couldn't believe the pace if the game, Carricks goal was a blinder and Smiths was amazing too, hes had a bit of stick off a few people so it was good that his first goal was a good one. It was like watching the Reading game where they had a mad few minutes, I kept saying to my mate lets get a 3rd, lets get a 4th! By the end I was shouting for 10 Fletcher played really well, faultess. It was hard to believe this was the team that got beat by Portsmouth at the weekend, I really couldn't fault anyones performance. It was clear that the pace of our game was far too fast for Roma last night.

did you see police mercilessly beating innocents with blood stained batons
as for your can't see it , all I saw was "[b]Great football{/b] shame about the 'fans'"

The reason its an issue is becasue Utd had been saying all week how this wouldn't happen which was a good thing but last night was just lowered to the standards of those thugs in Rome which is not what we want in England and obviously the club and police didn't do enough to prevent it.
Secondly I did say great football because it was, Arsenal fans don't give out praise to Utd very often but last night on the pitch it was very much deserved becasue it was a superb performance, no football supporter of any club can deny that. Plus I would also rather see Utd win trophies this season rather than Chelsea because it will be good for the Premiership. So I am not as anti Utd as you seem to think, not this season anyway
I know your comment was tongue in cheek banter but it was detracting from the point I was getting at, not the quality of football but what happened outside the stadium.
Sti I think you'd be better off with Bayern and avoid the whole Italy thing a second time in a row. Playing as you did last night not even German defending could withstand that sort of attacking play. I think another trip to Italy would be a bad thing as Roma fans would do their best to get to that game and do the same as they did at their home game.
