Good for him. Shows he's still passionate about his football and playing for England.

Of course, that's why he went to play for LA Galaxy.

The guy can still play and god knows AC are not the team they used to be, this would create the necessary publicity and generate some cash for the ailing giant...

Default Age Gap

there are a few older players at Meelan. he'll fit in well.
I don't think Beckham should play for england anymore he isn't the player he used to be. he can't get deep enough to make his crosses count.
James Milner is a good right sided midfielder is he not?
David Bentley, the jury is still out.

Milner is poor IMHO, no pace and not anywhere near Beckham in terms of ability.
Bentley has gone backwards since joining Spurs.

Beckham is still the best free kick and crosser of the ball in the world. He can land it on a sixpence

Well, your username does mention you are a scouser so I guess thats why you have no ******* idea what you are talking about. Becks is very influential in an England shirt. He brings something other than pace on the right that Walcott and Lennon provide. He carried us through the last world cup

Being a scouser has what to do with my opinion?
Fact Beckham was a talented footballer, another fact he cannot get to the goal line to deliver a telling cross any more.
He cannot play a full 90 minutes. David Beckham scored an excellent free kick against Greece which gained England qualification. since then he has never replicated that performance or earlier ones.
Yes halfwit media pleasing idiots love him and love seeing him play so they can say "i am right".
How many assists has beckham had in the last seven games he's played?
How many Killer crossess has he "landed on a sixpence"? i'll edit my post out if the answers are of a high percentage.
Is this post okay? or was the have a dig at someone because of where they are from, because you were having a bad day?

So he gets in the team because he has the ability to catch defenders off guard with his lightening slowness?

He never did anyway. He often bypasses the full back with his delivery. His crossing is still up there with the best.

He cannot play a full 90 minutes. David Beckham scored an excellent free kick against Greece which gained England qualification. since then he has never replicated that performance or earlier ones.

His performance against Greece was probably his defining England game so hard to replicate but he's been up there with the most influential England players for the past few years. When he came back after being dropped by McClaren he was superb for England and created goals. Against Croatia he got us back in the game when he came on. He may not be good for the full 90 like he was but he's more than worth his place in the squad.

Yes halfwit media pleasing idiots love him and love seeing him play so they can say "i am right".

Errr. As I say check out his games when he came back into the fold.

How many Killer crossess has he "landed on a sixpence"? i'll edit my post out if the answers are of a high percentage.

Did you see him come on against Kazakhstan? Not a great team but his ***** were superb. One stands out when he beats his man then with only Heskey to pick out found him with a deft chip creating a very good chance.

Thanks for beating me to the reply Sti

The reference to where youre from was a joke aimed at Liverpool/Everton fans not having much to shout about in recent times

Anyway, moving on, did I say hes capable of playing 90minutes? He certainly deserves a place in the squad at very least. Why dont you go and research assists hes had in the last 7 games hes played. I dont need to because I see what he does when he comes on the pitch.

You may witter on about him all you like, when a cross comes in from nearer the middle of the park they are more often than not cleared by defenders.
He hasn't "changed a game" in my opinion.
Emile Heskey has done more for England since he has been back.
Liverpool have had some success in european competitions recently, i think.
we'll all just have to agree to disagree i'm afraid.
My opinion is my opinion. you's have yours.
I hope he does well in his new club, going to the U.S to play for Mickey Mouse United in the Walt Disney league was a bad move.
Have a nice day all of you.

Default Shot Down

"its because what i see when he comes on" is shot down. Okay. If we all repeated What Andy Gray and Jamie Redknapp said there wouldn't be any discussions in this sport section. We would all be saying the same.
If you have an opinion different from the sheep, it means you are deluded.
Okay i'm deluded, i better leave now i have to Yell.com a psychoanalyst. I better get these delusions checked out.
Yes i know what your reply to this will be too. " Yes you better had"!!!!!!
All the best Our kid.
