Just having a scour on Arsenal.com

Name: Emmanuel Eboue
Born: June 04, 1983

Name: Eduardo
Born: February 25, 1983

Name: Robin van Persie
Born: August 06, 1983

So the sulky b*stard has a problem with one of the above

Personally I have an issue with all of them... anyone wanna guess what it is

We need Fabregas as captain, if not Toure. Gallas has never really lead by example in the games where we needed a leader.

the player is van persie!

being a arsenal geek, i know that robin is a very out spoken member of the team and before the season started during a open forum team meeting he told gallas to his face that he doesn't think gallas is good enough to be arseanal captain.

with gallas out forthe city game i hope wenger makesa real statement by making van persie capt for that one game!

As a gooner then would you prefer if Gallas left your club? I've never liked his attitude and felt personally Gilberto was a much better captain waiting in the wings.

Wenger decision to appoint Gallas (which I thought was to keep him at Arsenal) seems to reak of EPIC FAILURE.

Default Defence.

To much power turned him into a div, if he shut up and done his job there would be teams queing to sign him.
Upson, Class? no, he can't kick with his right foot. one good game doesn't turn you from mediocre into class. i have to disagree with you.
Gallas displayed excellent ability under ranieri, under jose he started to get ahead of himself and it seems it was the begining of the end. he'll end up at celtic or rangers thats were all the duds go

if we want to keep cesc, nows the time to do it! toure is another massive contender.

i'd not be sad to see him go personally, he does get some important goals though.

well another belter for teams to laugh at us for. almost as bad newcastle

i agree,he was made captain just to keep him happy at the club and atthe time he was one of the oldest players!
he can be a quality defender and footballer but i can't see him staying now.
if he stays he'll be a outcast, i can't see him sticking it out.

i think we have just about got the cover to survive at the back, players like djouruo and song will have a chance to shine.silvestre will prove to be a decent signing....i hope...lol

This would never happen with a strong manager in charge. Wenger has lost it.

Toure will be the new Captain he's the only 1 with the mindset for the job, Fabregas maybe but he's young still time in the future for him to be the Arsenal captain

TBH I think he did the right thing, all he was doing is telling it like it is, the players needed a kick up the **** and he as captain has tried to do just that,
Its happened before but for some reason people think he is just sl agging the club off, he isnt.
just my 2p worth.

imho the call for cesc to be made captain is probably the only option, toure can't get in the team (although if gallas doesn't play he will),

Cesc is a player all the others will look at and think 'we need him in our team' i'd imagine he's well liked by all too, but most importantly i feel it might just keep him at your football club.

What i do think is the other option is Almunia, been there a while and will play every week.

i would say potential captains are; Cesc
Almunia
Toure

just my 2p's worth

Gallas was a poor choice has captain, this is the the guy who threaten to score a own goal just before he left Chelsea. He should have been striped of the captaincy after the Birmingham game last year you would never see good captains like JT or Steven Gerrard behaving like that.

There's giving people a kick up the *** in private and kick up the *** in public.
I cant see how anything can be achieved by airing your dirty laundry in public. A sit down chat with certain players and clear the air and move on.
although he didnt mention names its out in the open that its RVP. Thats going to **** him off.
Gallas isnt a leader he's a drama queen. Birmingham game shows that. Imagine vieira or adams doing that no chance, they would of taken the player in question to the edge of the training ground and told them how it is, mabe with a "physical warning" round the ear.
Captain is an extension of the manager and doing these things is an insult to wenger and embarrassing

Players cant respect him either as Adebayor is already calling for cesc to be captain before it was officially out.

Is Almunia a captain? will see today.

also i agree with points above about cesc needing to get on with his own game but also i believe he is also the future of arsenal and he needs to be shown he is the centre piece in our squad, all players respect him.

Better than anything else they've got .

Gallas was getting a bit outspoken near the end of his Chelsea career, off loaded him at the right time

we aill get a good run at some point. 10 points is a huge amount to make up so early but its do able.

Gallas will be back in the squad and hopefully trying to prove his worth. That or trying to score an own goal
