Bet newcastle fans ***'s are twitching. free to sign a contract next month for free to any club.

good signing for any of the top 4 imo. proven goal scorer when fit.

think his wages would be a major stumbling block though. cant see top 4 paying it for a part time/injured player. although shevchenko springs to mind

I think he may leave, bit of a sinking ship at present with it being up for sale etc. be nice to see him stay though so newcastle dont lose there best players. think that would be unfair on the fans.

I think Dave has a good shout with Villa as a possible destination. I imagine he wants out of Newcastle ASAP.

Newcastle would be better off without him, money grabbing imho

if he thinks the grass in greener elsewhere let him go find out its not

good on his day but doesnt always have his day if you know what i mean

i'd also have him at arsenal, has pace and knows how to poach a goal.

he is a talented striker and has an awesome goals to games ratio but he is made of cheese. should fit in nicely at arsenal then

city is a good shout but i can see them lining up bigger fish now. maybe before the take over.
villa need a strong tall striker(i predict heskey transfer in jan) they have 2 fast strikers already.

would anyone else want him at the club?

He is still a good player, first start in ages and bangs in two goals. the first one was a scuff but he was in the right place. second typical Owen goal.

there will be a few managers interested i think.

I don't want to offend anyone but If we are all honest he's not going to win anything with the toon is he?

Sorry Geordies just being a realist.

Cheers Paul, in all my years as a loyal NUFC supporter the passion has gone.
All I care is that we survive the drop and can build up a team worthy of support.

If he stays he needs a large paycut!
He's played 37 games in 4 years for us on £102,000 a week. I'd like that job. Flys in by helicopter to training and then flys home again same thing for matches. I think whoever signed the contract he's on needs a swift kick in the jacksie.
But when he's fit there's no-one better....just a shame my gran is fitter than him.

Don't right Owen off at the right club and if he stays fit he will score goals thats the reason i would have him at Chelsea.

I dont really rate him that much anyway. He does have something about him admittedly but as an all round player I dont think he contributes that much to the team anyway. alot of his goals have come from tap ins from 2 yards out that probably would have gone in anyway

Goals are goals mate. his average is goal every 2 games at toon.

Should he stay fit he could be a 20-25 goal season man. as i say, should he stay fit though.

Personally, I'm not a fan, but no question he knows where the net is.

Got to be in the right place at the right time.

I don't think Gary Lineker ever scored from outside the 18 yard box but no-one can question his goal scoring abilities.

Strikers job is to score goals, regardless of where/how he gets them.

I think he will end up at Everton and would be a good signing for them.

I think your right with Everton, nice and local for him and he will be a bigish fish there, maybe take a bit of stick with playing for the redside but if he scores and stays fit he will be popular there.

He was also (apparently) an Everton supporter as a boy.

Goal scoring ratio ok .Games per season ratio crap
Cant see any of the top 4 wanting him and a big mistake for villa!
Man City could afford him though
I always thought he was a one trick pony. Good at the one trick ill grant you that

Can't see him going to the Toffees myself

I can't see Moyes spending a huge chunk of his salary budget on a player who's only going to be fit for half of the games at most
