Scholes calls it a day
It had to come sooner or later. One of the best players the Premiership has seen.

A proper footballer. No celebrity bull ****, no being a big headed ***** in the papers or a money grabbing **** like most of them these days. Just 100% football.
Cracking player. People like Scholsey are very rare these days.
Happy retirement

Have to agree. Can't really abide Man Ure but the likes of Scholes, Giggs, both Nevilles, are the epitome of the professional player, soon to be extinct unfortunately. The likes of Ronaldo are not fit to lace their boots.

Typical Scholesy - the retirement was announced after he'd gone on holiday so he didn't have to talk to the press, and he also apparently suggested that although he was being given a testimonial in August maybe he could do it by video link as he couldn't be doing with the fuss...
I remember seeing a link to pictures of all the Utd players' homes and they are all Cheshire / Disney massive tasteless monstrosities with huge landscaped gardens whereas Scholes had pretty much a bungalow built for him in Oldham (admittedly a big one) and the garden seems to be 90% football pitch complete with goals http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/...iew/?service=1 - it's the one at the top of the picture next to the woods

gutted even though i knew it would happen. He was the perfect footballer for your club. He would be in anybodies team of the past 20 years. I remember when he had the eye issues and he was on the road to recovery. He made his come back against Spurs in the Fa Cup at OT. He went out to warm up and the whole stadium pretty much got to their feet and gave him a standing ovation..... hairs on the neck stuff!
legend.

"my sort ...intelligant...."?? Oxymoronic surely?
Scouse delusions of the highest order; not seen since the late great Ash departed these shores. It'll be a good season next year on here, especially when King Kenny cracks up (again) by January having been driven to distraction by the gulf between the bindipper delusions and the grim reality of the likes of Carroll - a B movie Duncan Ferguson if ever I saw one.

True professional and just got on with his job. I remember looking up some stats 2-3 seasons ago and his pass completion % for the season to date was way above anyone elses in the premier league. Very rarely did he give a ball way. Shame he never learnt to tackle.
Got some serious praise from his fellow professionals. Messi wanted his shirt at the end of the Champs League final but Inniesta beat him to it lol:

Don't tell me - "next year's going to be your year". Now where have I heard that before?
