Question

Be a bit careful with Hammerite, it uses Xylene as a solvent, and can cause paint under it to "crackle" and lift.
I'd say just spray them black with standard car cellulose.

read somewhere on here that if you remove the paint with cellulose thinners, underneath is a nice satin black finish plastic wedge

just rub down the white paint which will act as a primer anyway then paint with a black aerosol.

Rub down, prime, colour (a few coats) and laquer (again, a few coats). Worth doing properly so you don't have to do em again in a couple of weeks.
