I'm getting a Skoda Octavia vRS and wondered if it is possible to darken the chrome grill on the front?

Thanks for your help.

Thumbs down

Paint doesn't like to stick to shiny surfaces, so you may be into emery cloth: rubbing down the whole lot to get a good key
Even then, you'll be respraying it every 6 months as the paint will chip.
Do Skoda not do a black grille for a lesser model?
if not, I'd be inclined to leave it: yes, it'll look good, but the trouble..................

I remember my brother painting a Mk1 escort grill with Varnish (which stuck) before spraying it with a top coat. That worked at the time.

Still dunno why he did it?

Your only other option id to fund a friendly sigh writer who will cover it in part transparent grafic material, or sell you some.
