Colour coding skirts and door mirrors

Colour coding skirts and door mirrors
went to a body shop today and the guy said they wouldnt recommend colour coding the side skirts and door mirrors as the paint will chip off, is this true?
I am guessing but priming the plastic and spraying it with the correct type of paint should be fine, any comments appreciated guys

i went to the local spray place the other week, they said there's no point spraying the skirts because being 4wd they'll get chipped with all the cr@p that gets pushed back, unless you've got mud flaps of course.
would've thought that they can be sprayed tho, surely theres some sort of primer

as long as you use proper plastic primer it'll be fine, it shouldn't chip off any more than any other painted part of your car.
I think places like scoobyclinic offer colour coding, prices are around £200+ but don't quote me on that
