Fast and Furious style - steam from under wheel arch.
Hi there.
I never thought I'd see it for real, but there is a guy driving around with a car that has that steam effect happening - as seen in 2 Fast, 2 Furious. He passed me by and then 'whoosh' up came 2 columns of smoke from either side of the front wheels. It looked well ace, just like the Skyline at the start of 2F, 2F when they are about to race each other.
I didn't get a chance to ask him about it, but I thought I'd check if anyone here knows how do you install something like that and are there any cons that you would need to consider, certainly from an STI 8 point of view?
Just a quick note to all those who will read this post and say the same old stuff, similar to how neons are crap, and dump valves suck - I'm just curious about the workings of things like this, I'm not interested in knowing how much hostility it causes those readers who aren't interested in things like this.
Many thanks
Jas.

That aint steam you can see mate, that is a nitrous-purge valve. The idea is that when nitrous sits in the supply line too long it goes "off" by getting too hot so requiresd to be blown off just prior to a race so that the freshest possible nitrous sits in the line. Very expensive trick though as it requires a full Nos set up to be running in your car and twin purge valves...............................wouldn't expect much change out of a grand.

The one in 2 fast 2 furious was staged with CO2 though as NOS purge valves dont make clouds that big. If you want the fake effect Wizards of Nos (aka Highpower) do a purge kit with a co2 tank for about 150 quid.
Bit naff if you ask me...... but good as an intercooler spray
