Lower grill for pennies
After washing the car I noticed that a stone had hit the condenser, time to do something...
Not willing to pay £120 for the Subaru lower, I came up with this today.
Get some plastic competition mesh from halfords and offer it up to the lower grill aperture.
Now cut the mesh about 2” larger than the aperture all round.
Roll up the mesh into a long Sausage so it will unravel with the curve towards you and cable tie in 5 or so places to keep it tight.
Now feed this into position behind the centre support.
Cut off the cable ties and the mesh will unravel inplace with it curving towards you slightly.
Now use One cable tie at the left and right end of the mesh, and secure to the existing ½” hole in the steel body each end.
Use One cable tie around the middle black plastic support.
Job done…no drilling and only £15 or so for the mesh, and 20minutes work.
I used this method on my old Civic type r, but that was much tighter to do. The scoob was real easy.
Top stuff eh
