Removing runs from spray lacquer
I've just sprayed a wing mirror cover for a BMW Mini and it looks great apart from two runs in the lacquer. Now, how long do I need to wait before I flat back the lacquer and start again and can I do it on just the 2 bits with runs or do I have to flat the whole cover and start again?
It was £100 for a painted cover or £30 for the cover and paint - not a difficult choice!

tbh i think the lacquer will take a few weeks to harden if it isnt baked.
but....
how large is the surface area, can you not blow over it all again with the lacquer after flatting it down. I would have thought that the lacquer would react with the initial coat and blend it all together ???????????????????

what did you spray it with?
if its rattle cans you can probably get away with rubbing them flat after 24-48 hours easy enough.
if you rub it down well enough you might be able to just relaquer it and it will be ok
this is why i love the fact that i painted my scoob with cellulose paint and no laquer, it takes next to no time to fix any scratches or dings as i can blend in in with no worries

as above depends what you sprayed it with,
but let it dry for a day or two don't bake it as its plastic and will buckle, then simply flat the runs with 1500 wet and dry and g3 compound then g10 compound and polish then you wont need to re-do it.
