Default Getting rid of WRX sticker

Theres a 'WRX' sticker on the back of the car and I want rid of it, its the standard one that comes on some of them, but it looks like its been laquered over!!

Anyway to remove it without having to fully respray the boot lid?

If it HAS been laquered over, no.

If it hasn't, try warming it with a hairdryer, then picking at it and pealing it off.

If it has been lacquered over why cant you use wet and dry 1500 followed by a compound and rub away until you get down to the sticker. You can then peel and keep rubbing down until there is no build up of lacquer around where the sticker was. After all this you still wouldnt have been touching the original paint work.

But chances are you'll be left with a differnt shade underneath and a horrible ghosting from quite a difference in thickness of lacquer where the graphic was.

Personally I'd leave it or get the boot resprayed or a replacement one.

I can see how there may be a difference in colour but cant understand why there would be a different thicknesses of lacquer if you rub it down to the same level as the rest of the panel.

Either way if you are going to get it resprayed there is no harm in trying to rub it down first. If it doesnt work then you havent lost anything. If it does then you've saved yourself a heap of money.
