The time has come to sell her unfortunately. Second child plus a long commute means it is time to get sensible. I’ve had this car since May 2011 and made some upgrades. Have always looked after the car with no expense spared. Forged engine by Engine Tuner and then a later rebuild which has just been completed by Dave West in Princes Risborough. I'm a long time member and owner of Imprezas and have owned them since 2000. My last Impreza, an STi 6 was sold on here too.
Here is the car for sale
Details are
• 63,100 miles.
• UK spec car.
• Forged engine with• Exhaust - Full Milltek 3" System including sports cat (no problems passing MOT)
• Cosworth Air Filter
• Prospeed Evo gauges (turbo boost, oil pressure and oil temp)
• Kenwood double-din stereo with Bluetooth
• Replaced gold wheels with silver.
• Front splitter
Good points
Recent forged rebuild and brand new clutch.
The car feels great. And the 2.5 really does pull well. The new engine runs lovely. 340bhp and 400lbft torque.
The car is in great condition. No accidents or bodywork issues or interior scrapes or tears. It's my daily drive but usually only ever has me in it.
Not so good points - and I’m being very honest here - this is all minor stuff - but I'm brutally honest in my sales.
Couple of trolley door-dings – but nothing noticeable.
Doesn't smoke but uses some oil. Not much. But this is normal for a forged engine.
The tiniest amount of hesitation when first started from cold for a couple of minutes. Probably running a little rich when cold. Could be mapped out if you wanted. But I don’t put my foot down when cold.
I don’t like the gauge pod. It looks a bit cheap. I have a replacement but never fitted it. Will give it to the buyer.
Price and Location
Now £8,200. Located in Buckinghamshire. This car has been and will be my daily drive until sold. Please contact me on 07949 573524 if interested. Only want serious buyers and no test drives unless evidence of insurance. I'm not in a rush to sell so no silly offers. Am not interested in part exchange either.
Here is the detail on the car. I have all the paperwork.
10th May 2011
I purchased the car from a chap that worked on the helicopters at RAF Benson. The car was completely standard with just 18,000 miles on the clock. I still have all the service history since new from the previous owner. He looked after it well and had just had a full service including the timing belt.
26th May 2011
I had a Milltek exhaust system and sports cat, front splitter, new brake pads and the car remapped at Slowboy Racing by Neil.
11th June 2011
Replaced the gold wheels with the same ones in Silver (from a STi 8).
14th October 2011 – 22,400 miles
MOT passed – no issues.
4th May 2012
New tyres all round.
10th May 2012 – 29,742 miles
Car serviced
29th June 2012 – 32,164 miles
Car serviced
7th November 2012 – 37,983 miles
MOT passed – no issues.
10th November 2012 – 38,159 miles
Car serviced.
2nd March 2013 – 43,882 miles
The car had started to burn a lot of oil. Having read the stories of chocolate pistons in the UK 2.5 cars, I took the car to Engine Tuner (Alan Jeffery) where this was proved true. So booked it in for a fully forged engine rebuild; Mahle pistons, ACL bearings and head studs, Cosworth gaskets and RCM oil pumps. Heads were overhauled. New water pump. New timing belts. New CC performance clutch.
Prosport gauges fitted too.
I picked the car up on the 23rd March.
30th March 2013 – 44,197 miles
Oil change during after running in period. Used Millers running in oil.
6th April 2013
Headed back down to Plymouth where Engine Tuner did the remap plus oil change. From this point on the car was always run on Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10w-50 oil.
16th July 2013 - 50,319 miles
Car serviced.
22nd November 2013
After noticing the oil pressure gauge and the oil pressure occasionally dropping below what was normal I had the car recovered back to Engine Tuner in Plymouth. They found the oil pick up pipe in the sump had cracked and replaced it free of charge with no noticeable damage to the engine.
Oil change too.
3rd January 2014 - 56,131 miles
MOT passed - no issues.
1st April – 60,500 miles
Car lost all its water whilst driving up the A1. Pulled over straight away and recovered the car back to home. Looked pretty disastrous as water had mixed with oil. Never a good sign. This time I had the car taken to Dave West in Princes Risborough. He used to service my previous Impreza when I lived closer. Dave is an ex-Subaru mechanic, done many forged engine rebuilds and now spends his time building and racing Aston Martins for a friend. He squeezed me in and diagnosed a cracked engine block. Was the smallest crack – but still a cracked block. Spec for rebuild was; brand new EJ25 block, Cosworth pistons, Cosworth gaskets and ACL bearings.
I picked the car up on the 25th July. Long time without her.
31st July 2014 – 61,172 miles
Oil change after running in. No issues to report.
23rd August 2014
Rear brake discs replaced. All brake pads front and rear replaced.

Yep. Two rebuilds over 20,000 miles and lots of money. I put it down to bad luck and the cracked oil pick up pipe causing problems. Anyhow all running perfectly now. Have just had the front and rear brake pads and rear discs replaced.
Yes, car is running the standard turbo. Turbo replacement would be the next upgrade step.

Have another bump. I've been watching this car and can't believe it hasn't sold yet! If I had of seen this car about a week sooner than it was listed I would've snapped it up instead of mine! GLWS

It has K1 rods in it. I had the same engine build as Lee. Minus the peripherals; front mount and bigger turbo. See here for his
