I imported the car myself earlier on this year with a well known Japanese exporter, the car is completely standard and original even down to it having the original exhaust and Subaru cassette player. It was a grade 4 car at auction in Japan. I have all the original japanese bookpack with service history. Also all of the import paper work, ie de registration docs, shipping paperwork and original auction sheet etc.
I originally set out looking for a sti type RA that i could modify and stumbled accross this. It soon became clear after getting the car here that this was not a car I could bring myself to change in any way. It is far too clean and original to do anything to and I think best left alone to be enjoyed as it is.
The car arrived in June and since registering the car I have tirelessly tried to get it to the highest standard i can (and i am a perfectionist!!)
MOT
Cat 1 alarm / immob fitted (Toad AI606) - wired into the aftermarket central locking kit which was already fitted
Service with Fuchs Titan Race oil (inc air filter and NGK platinum plugs)
Gear oil change (castrol syntrax)
Rear diff oil change (castrol B373 racing oil)
Fitted rear fog light
Fitted MPH convertor (Speedo now reads in MPH)
Fitted radio FM band expander
Painted rear door trims
Painted wiper arms
Sourced original alloys and had faces repainted
Clean and paint calipers
Replace front brake discs and pads
Sourced original boot stickers
Had the drivers front and rear doors painted as they were scratched (see pics)
Bonnet vents painted (as faded)
Underside:
Underside of the car is immaculate, I have purposefully not undersealed the car so anyone wishing to view it can fully inspect it. I have used the car as a daily driver since importing it and is garaged at night and kept dry during wet weather.
Interior:
All completely original, very clean with very minor wear on seats (no tears or rips) very slight fade on the red cloth of the front seats. Some minor scratches on the front door cards. Also has full set of original Subaru carpet mats.
Exterior:
Ive had the drivers front and rear doors painted due to them being scratched (see before pics) also ive located the original boot decals as they were missing.
Also had the bonnet vents painted as they were faded.
Paint is excellent for its age and apart from the doors which ive had painted the car looks to have all its original paint work with no signs of any previous repairs or paint.
Engine:
Again completely standard apart from the addition of an earthing kit (very popular in Japan I believe). Also i have re-painted the inlet manifold due to the paint peeling off (see before pics in the japan link)
Runs excellent without fault and always used super unleaded.
Tyres:
Bridgestone playz pz-x all round with lots of tread
Bad points (very picky)
Rear bumper has a touched in scratch on each corner, Front bumper has a touched in scratch
Rear discs slightly corroded (pads have plenty of material left)
I have tried to be as honest and in depth as possible describing the car, as we have all viewed a car at some point which has been ‘optimistically’ advertised !. I cannot stress how clean and original this car is.
If i had the space and money I would definately be keeping this car in the garage for a few years.
