Default 2002 Bugeye STI - PPP - Great Project - New HG Needed

EDIT: CAR HAS BEEN SOLD

Hey all

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I have to offload my 2002 Bugeye STI PPP. Genuine reason for sale, the short version, I think she's blown the drivers side head gasket. I've gotten half way through pulling the engine, but my funds are now needed elsewhere and I am just not getting back to her in time.

She deserves to be fixed and on the road, and I can't commit that kind of time and cash for at least the next 6 months to a year, so I have to let her go.

She will make an awesome project car to someone who has the funds and time to rebuild the engine and put some TLC into her.

Warning: I live on the Isle of Man and she isn't drivable. I've heard Steam Packet can secure her on the ferry, and you would just need to get a tow company to flatbed her there and they will secure her, and then you can pick her up the other side. Towing I was quoted just short of £100 and a ferry ticket you are looking at £150 to £300 depending on time of year. Please call the Steam Packet Company first to confirm though.

So, here is a rough breakdown of what's been done and what I am looking at:

75k miles on the clock
2002 STI Type UK PPP - Engine and Chassis code match up, but previous owner lost the cert, and when I bought her I didnt know they came with one.
It's in the best colour, blue ofc!

Previous owner put on:

Morette headlights colour coded.
Straight through pipe
Green sports panel air filter
Uprated fuel pump, although I've not confirmed this, was sold as such

I've added:

Exedy stage 2 clutch as stock was slipping
Lightened flywheel, changed at the same time as the clutch
Uprated grooved and dimpled brake disks as was getting insane brake fade.
New Mintek pads at the same time.

Being low mileage and a PPP which are becoming rarer than rocking horse shht, and the gasket went very soon after all the work above, I am looking at somewhere IRO £3.5k. I bought it for well above 4k and have spent over 2k getting the basics right, before the gasket went.

It's negotiable, ofc, but all within reason

Hi, interested on the car as have a closed deck block waiting to forge and go in a car. What sort of state is it in now in terms of pulling the engine out? Is it all in kit form or one lump still in?
It's exactly what I'm looking for, what sort of history have you got with it? Number of owners etc?

Hey bud. I've semi pulled the engine, as in, taken the bigger 'in the way' bits out. I've pulled the battery, airbox, intercooler, radiator and fans, alternator, power steering pump (still connected but not bolted down), AC compressor (still connected but not bolted down), washer bottle, various clips, covers and belts etc. If the rain calms down I can take another pic of the bay. but see attached for the most recent pics I took. One of the interior and one of the current state of the engine bay. Bear in mind I haven't cleaned it at all as I was still pulling it apart.

Essentially the motor is still connected. turbo and exhaust are all still connected. Motor is still connected to the bell housing and inlet manifold is still attached. I never got so far as disconnecting the rest as I wanted to get an engine crane, engine stand and all the necessary parts before I pulled it so I could start working on it immediately, but sadly that hasn't happened yet.

As far as I know, it's had 3 owners before me. It's got a FSH up until 2010 and then a few invoices at non-Scooby dealers until 2012.

After yet another person letting me down after numerous promises, I've been forced to bump this up again.

Now, I need to shift her quick and initially put her up at £3500 ONO but the urgency means I am prepared to accept £2500.

Please PM me and I will send my bank details, but after being messed around for the fourth time, I won't hold the car for anyone until they've deposited the money into my account, I can always do a refund if you don't take it, but for that kind of money, its a deal!!

In terms of getting it off the island, from my initial post:

"I've heard Steam Packet can secure her on the ferry, and you would just need to get a tow company to flatbed her there and they will secure her, and then you can pick her up the other side. Towing I was quoted just short of £100 to drop it onto the ferry and a ferry ticket you are looking at £150 to £300 depending on time of year. Please call the Steam Packet Company first to confirm though."

Yip, correct, but at the time I already had 2 other people that swore blindly they would take it for £3k guaranteed before and who both let me down. Your final number from our last convo was £2k because of the ferry costs. I've since found out it is £500 cheaper now as you dont have to take the flatbed across.

It's still on offer at £2.5k.
