Car is back up for sale after the previous sale fell through (change in personal/financial circumstances)
£3,500 for a stunning car. Not interested in a part-ex. Car is in Buckinghamshire. Private Message me if interested. No one gets to drive it unless they can show me they're insured to.
I'm a long time Impreza fan since 1996 and been on this board since 1998. I absolutely love this car - it's the best car I've owned, but a new family member means it is time to turn middle aged. The car is an STi 6 (the last of the classics) in what is arguably the best colour – Cool Grey.

Some history on the car …
The car was imported brand new at a cost of £27,995 on 14/3/2000. I purchased the car in 2006 at 32k miles. Here is the 2006 advert still on Sccobynet.
https://www.scoobynet.com/private-fo...i-ver-6-a.html
I have owned it since then and have done a further 100k miles in it. It’s now done 137k miles. The original engine went at 94k miles and was rebuilt by API with various uprated parts. The gearbox was entirely overhauled and reconditioned then too. This has been a “no expense spared” car. It has never been involved in any accidents or prangs. Tax and MOT runs until August. Also, as it was registered in early 2000, it doesn’t come under the emissions based tax – so a lot less to tax than later Imprezas.
Spec is standard aside from a few tasteful modifications as follows
- STi 6 forged rods, Wiseco pistons, crank and bearings
- ARC intercooler
- Ported Headers
- TD05/20G turbo
- Tek3 remap
- Hayward & Scott exhaust and decat downpipe – 3” all the way through
- Prosport stepper gauges
- Coilover suspension (road going settings but still hard, car has not been lowered at all, so looks standard)
- Whiteline anti-lift kit, camber bolts and droplinks.
- Refitted high level (and original) STi 6 spoiler. It used to have a mid level spolier on it from new.
- Pentagon Privacy Glass
- P1 alloys (tyres have plenty of life in them)
This car is in great condition and probably the most fun you’ll ever have driving to work. The front end was re-sprayed by Fieldhouse and Husbands in 2009 so very few stone chips. But it’s not a family car. Its ride is firm on coilovers, it’s noisy with the 3” straight through exhaust and the suspension creaks and rattles. But if you want a car to drive on A and B roads and something to look after then you’ll love this.
The only bad points I’m aware of are
- Tickeover sometimes hunts or stalls before settling on 800rpm. It needs a new lambda sensor to fix. THIS HAS NOW BEEN FIXED
- The driver’s window sometimes struggles to fully close as it meets the rubber seal. The window motor has weakened and needs replacing (ebay/breakers yard). Closes fine if the door is open. THIS HAS NOW BEEN FIXED
- Tiny paint bubbling in the top corner where the drivers window meets the roof.

Car is back up for sale after the previous sale fell through due to a change in the buyer's circumstances. Still £3,500 but have resolved the tickover and drivers window fault.
