Drop the attitude, it has the wrong rear bumper for that year of car simple as that

Agree with Banny. No need to get all defensive.
He is simply pointing out that the rear bumper isn't as it left the factory.

So aside from it being in an accident, why would you change it as it looks worse.

If you advertise a scooby on a fanatics site such as this, prepare to have your car looked at by a lot of people who know what they are talking about it.

Your advert is very basic as well.

What was the reason for the respray? All people are thinking at the moment is that it has been in accident, got a different rear bumper and had a re-spray not in the original colour.

Also, the front bumper on an sti doesn't usually come with fog lamps. Are these connected of just those that came with the bumper?

What does it matter if it has a had the bumpers changed, my RA has facelift front and prefacelift rear bumpers and has been painted but has never been in an accident.

Banny's car has had a load of parts changed so maybe his has had a major accident requireing loads of parts to be replaced as well or maybe its just that everyone's for sale adds need to be vetted by certain people with to much time on their hands.

This could well be a genuine car for sale but it has now been suggested by someone who doesnt even know the owner that the car has been in an accident requiring the front and rear bumpers to be replaced as well as a respray. Doesnt help the OP sell the car. I am sure if someone was genuinely interested in buying it they would be looking for more details.

Good luck with the sale car looks worth asking price all day.

HPI check on R873 OWT reveals Cat C insurance loss, extensively damaged but repairable.

Saved me a 5 hour round trip that.

Buying a second hand car nowadays is a farse.

Changes the merits of the car but shows some are genuine and some clearly not.

It matters alot to some people who want a clean original car but dont know what to look out for.

Banny's car's is not for sale so its not a question what's been changed on his is it ...And may be he likes popping onto the threads to help people buy the right car ? And not get stitched up as this his happening as we all know alot.

Sound's to me you have an issue with banny?? And not actually trying to help the seller.

Looks a decent car well worth 5k i would put a much better description as this sell's a car.And yes i do know what im on about

Too much time on our hands? Yeah right. More like doing every potential buyer a huge favour. Massively over valued for what it is. If the seller knew and did not disclose, I wouldn't trust him at all.

You walked into this one I'm afraid kirstyzscoobz.

The lack of info, incorrect bumpers and slight chip on sellers shoulder set off the alarm bells.

Major difference is that Banny has a long history on this site. People know him and his car.
As for the new seller, nobody knows him or the car, so of course we are going to ask questions.
I just wonder if dave2rs hadn't done the check if the seller would ever have admitted to it being a cat c. I seriously doubt it.

If you think it is still worth the cash, put your money where your mouth is and buy it.

One thing kinda worries me. 3k for a Cat c, 5k for a seeming good example.

2k in it, kinda slim.....

I would say £3k tops. Most likely to someone who doesn't have a clue what they are buying.
You know damn well that the seller will not be upfront about its history.

I will only ever ask genuine questions about the ad.
The less vague the add, the fewer questions we will ask.
