So how much later does it spool compared to the VF36 in terms of peak boost ?

A bit off topic but I noticed on another thread you were using aftermarket headers, are you sure its the turbo thats feeling laggy and not the headers? The standard twinscroll headers are supposed to be better than aftermarket items.

Yes headers made 200rpm slower spool.ok for a big power set but not for a 360bhp track set up.those headers and this turbo at 2bar on a 2.1 or 2.5 would be insane

If you're using a 450+bhp turbo to make 360-380bhp it's probably always going to be too laggy.

Nice turbo. I was looking at these with Mark @ Lateral yesterday, but Ideally I want to stay single scroll.

Hi Shaun,

As discussed your twin scroll Subaru turbo is in very good condition. The axial (in and out) and radial (side to side) play in the turbo is within normal, acceptable, limits and there is no damage to either compressor or turbine wheel. The wastegate assembly is working correctly as is the actuator. The ceramic coating is a little dirty but that’s normal for the white coating and certainly won’t be harming performance in any way.

It’s a good unit that has clearly not done many miles.

Kind Regards

Matt Waterman

Default Too much turbo

No in a word i was limited with my top moint.if you have a jdm 2.0 and a front mount 450 is easy.just run more boost.around 1.7 bar should do it.my tmic was the issue and on my spec i did not want a front mount simple really.if you have a jdm twin scroll its a direct replacement.there is a lug you gave to shorten on the grarbox casing.do a searvh.its not hard to remove.its due to comp cover size.
