Default New IAG stage 4 extreme complete engine - 0 miles

Hi, I'm from belgium. I have been building my impreza 2 doors for the last 4 years.
I askt the top builder "EMS" from the netherlands to make a bullet proof engine that can handel al the power i wanted.
Now, the engine is in the car for almost a year, but it still hasn't been fired up. So every thing is brand new.
I'm looking so sell everything except my twin plate clutch.
The reason of selling is i may look for a build 3.3 svx engine for it.

This is the complete engine spec. So everything is brand new except the trial 44mm external wastegate (got a set of new spring for it) and the perrin rotated uppipe en downpipe.

Short block

IAG Stage 4 + Tuff EJ257 sti full closed deck engine: 4200 pounds

Kelford 282/278 cams: 985 pounds

Brian Crower ajustible cam polies: 555 pounds

Engine assembly: 1160 pounds

So the total price i payed for the engine was 22012 pounds

I think that 16500 pounds is a fair price. That is more then 25% discount( 5512 pounds discount) for all new parts except the external waste gate( has a set of new springs) and the perrin rotated kit.
I got all the bils from al the parts that I bought.
I will consider any good bid, but no fun bidding.
This is the very best you can buy for a ej25 engine
My lose can be your gain

Wel I think my engine is going no where. There is no response on it.
Even with the 25% discount on it, it is still a lot of money. A hell lot of money.
I was surprised when I made a total what the engine cost me. I think you you can buy 2 new dancia cars here in Belgium for the amount that that engine had cost me.

I'm sad I can't sell it, this is a 850 hp engine, I love to have a twin turbo, 6 cylinder, 1000 hp.

But this is still going to give me a big smile when he will be up and running.

Never ever start calculating what your Subaru build has cost you

Just use and enjoy what you have paid for already.

Nothing sells in the run up to Christmas, not houses, cars or engines. Especially in the UK.

Yours was correctly priced mate. Sadly this is too expensive IMO especially as some of the individually priced parts are listed at above current retail price. Yours took a while to sell even with a fantastic spec from a well known builder and someone got a total bargain. This would have to be half the current price to gain interest IMO and as we all know if an engine has been sat unused for a year it really could do with a tear down, inspection and rebuild before use again. The OP is best of splitting this for parts to get as much of their money back as possible.

Why do you think it is not save to start this engine up? There is no oil in it yet. The build off the car toke longer then I thought I would be. I don't the diverence of a engine that is complete for 1 week, 1 month or one year.

Due to moisture ingress and build up. A good friend of mine had his built engine supplied from the builder which he kept wrapped while it sat in his garage for a month awaiting time for install. Once installed it failed very quickly and after strip and inspection it was determined that moisture had slowly built up from condensation inside the block and sat against the piston block wall at the lowest point which had in turn caused block wall corrosion and defects before the first fire. His had to be stripped, re-bored again and fitted with larger oversized pistons and rings. It can and has happened, so would be something I would want a builder to check before my large investment went up in smoke.

I'm not saying yours isn't perfect and it may be fine.

It will be fine. My new engine sat unused for more than two years. But it's good to rotate the crankshaft manually a few times.
