Default 2003 WRX Engine + all ancillaries - Spares or Repair

I have a full Red block Engine from an 80K mile 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX.

It was removed due to a bottom end failure , all other parts are fully working and comes complete with ALL ancillaries such as turbo ( TD04 ), manifolds , headers ect. It also has a set of 650cc injectors with it.

the car had full service history and the engine's bottom end only failed to my own negledance with the oil level's !

Im not sure what these are worth but iv been offered £200 weighing it all in and have seen the turbos go for £150 ish , Im asking £400 , Il take some pictures when i can get to the lockup and post them up

Im also open on offers for all parts just drop me a message with an offer.

Used TD04 turbo's go for £35-70 ........ Unusual to have such large injectors for such a small turbo.

As mentioned, what's a "red block" ?

Does he mean with red inlet manifold. Is a knackered engine worth that? I doubt it running ones go for not that much more.

Must be red inlet , i was simply told by the garage that removed it that it is the red top/block type , As i said I'm not sure what the stuff is worth so that is a ballpark figure , i have watched a few engines on eBay and the like advertised at £1K with no ancillaries so thought this price was fair , If not please tell me what it is worth

As Above , Think its the inlet going from what the other poster has mentioned , It was just what the garage told me when it was removed

Just going from what i have seen advertised and selling , if thats more than you think its worth and are intrested please PM me an offer. The car was running 340bhp hence the injectors , Same as above regarding the red info

I think you need to spend some time working out what you have and posting another for sale thread. The TD04 Turbo you have is happy to 265 BHP but can be thrashed to 280 plus on a good day but woukld never make 340BHP......

Maybe have another word with the garage

It is a TD04 , The engine was ran at 340 with TD05H hence the injectors

Unless it's a closed deck block it's worth very little as it costs a fortune to rebuild the bottom end. Best to break it up, sell all the bits separately & weigh the rest in.

If it was the original engine out of an 03 plate it will not be a closed deck as all the Newage wrx's had an open deck and no red inlet, STI's had a semi closed deck and came with a red inlet manifold, so was it out of a WRX or an STi, best get a couple of pics up and we should be able to tell you,

Gaz.

£300's not a bad price with all the ancillaries though, I've seen the injectors alone go for around £150.

Exactly what i thought , Theres £300 of parts in there so someone could buy it then weigh the engine in and they would have got £300's worth of bit for around £200

Most know what an engine looks like lol , Only problem is its at a lockup with no lights so its always pitch black by the time i get there from work. With a bit of luck il be able to sort one out before the weeks out.

Also forgot to mention it has a perfectly good clutch with it as well.
