Front axel weight question
Hi
In another thread about lowering springs I have read the below quote from Modrich
What makes a WRX noticeably light over the front axel? Does an STI have that much more front end weight to affect spring compression.
Many thanks

In another thread about lowering springs I have read the below quote from Modrich
They lower the car by 25-30mm at the front and rear drops enough to level out the stance as the WRX tends to look too high at the front on standards springs. These are specifically designed to work with standard shocks and are specific to the WRX weight (lighter over the front axle than the STi) where as, say, the Eibach springs are 'one size fits all' and don't work as well with the WRX.
Many thanks

The only extra weight I can think of that an STi has over a WRX is the weight of the 6 speed box and heavier Brembo brakes. Brakes are unsprung though so won't affect spring compression. Not sure how much effect the 6 speed weight would have.
