Default M2 Motorsport Chassis Brace

I got a chassis brace for my classic made by M2 Motorsport and tried fitting it today. After spending ages under the car trying to undo the bolts (they were really, really tight!!) it turns out that one of the mounting holes didn't line up with the car!! I tried editing the hole, but then the bolt fouled on the outside of the brace! The second pic shows how much I had to edit it!
Has anyone else had an issue with a chassis brace, I'm wondering if it might be a defect in the brace?

They are cheap ebay quality. But you need to line it up front first. If it doesn't line up free hand without any bolts you should have called it a day there tbh. They can be an **** to fit and need a helping hang to bend them in line while being done up. Unless it gets a decent purchase on the nut holding it to the subframe after you've drilled it, it's gonna be pointless. It looks scrap now. The whiteline one is nice and Summit do an epic one too

Yep I'd say it's ****ed now. No chance of a refund either 😣

I had the same problem with my H brace which I bought from Ebay, it was a bit too wide and didn't fit between the U frame so had to send it back.

I've messaged the eBay seller and the manufacturer. The seller basically said that I don't know what I'm doing and should take it to a garage and the manufacturer said that my car is twisted!
Looks like my birthday present this year is a useless lump of metal!!!
