I have bought a set of STI type RA shocks through the for sale section on the asumption that they were Blistein's, how can I tell if they are, the marking on the side of the struts are;
Front Struts - KD02, 20360FA220, gas filed, KYB
Rear Struts - KD09, 20310FA820, KYB

Any suggestions.

Cheers

Scott

They aren't Bilsteins. They are Kayaba's (KYB).

Thumbs up

My front shocks are Bilsteins, the strut is silver with a sticker with Bilstein - STi & Prodrive labels on it.

Oh crap, money well spent - not.

Will these be any different from the standard UK turbo dampers that is on the car just now?

Any idea what year they were from?

I think they will be firmer than the ones you have now

kyb catalogue Hopefully at the right page...

may be helpful to you. I think you'll find the shocks you've bought will be stiffer than standard UK.

I was told that they came off a MY96 STI Type RA,

I'll check the KYB site and let you know.

According to the KYB catalogue the STI and 2000 turbo's have the same dampers.

Well pissed off, they are they same as the ones I've got but 4 years older.

Hi Scott.
I'm after replacing my shocks and was wondering if the ones you bought would fit a uk95 wagon. Are they gas filled ond in good condition and do you know if they are a much harder ride.
E mail me if you like with your number and we can have a chat.
Cheers m8.

I think on the earlier Sti's the struts won't be much different to the uk ones (plus from a 96 may be on their last legs anyway) ... however what you want is StiV onwards. These are inverted type, much stronger and firmer (nice pink colour too ).

Tony.
