Can anyone help? Ive got eibachs (fitted 6+ months back) and also a STi strut brace and its been fine for 6+ months but today im getting a clonking groaning noise from the drivers side front suspension. Any thoughts on what this might be?

Try tightening up the allen bolt that sits right in the middle of the shock turret under a little plastic cover. Mine did this and took me ages to find it.

If not that then try taking off the under tray to see if there is anything loose rolling about.

Then just try checking all nuts are tight and look at the drop links carefully.

Another possibility is the lower ball joint on the wishbone.

Now fixed! turned out it was the upper bolt on the (uprated) link. I reckon Ive been zipping along the lanes and caught a bump mid corner and stripped the thread slightly on the bolt. the nyloc then held firm but gradually it and the bolt were allowing movement. one more bump and it went a bit further and was moving quite freely. when I put the spanner on it the bolt thread on the end looked fine but the nut just turned, totally cross threaded at the face of the bush.

Suggest people who 'enjoy' their cars and have uprated suspension check these on a regular basis, mine have only been on since August... :-( Interestingly you can feel this kock thru the accelerator pedal so its quite pronounced.

Gonna replace both bolts but will be buying spares too...

Jon.
