Lowering my scooby with 18's

In the last few mounths i've had 18's fitted to my car at the same time as having the rear arches rolled to stop them from scraping, Now that time and money permits I want to turn it from what looks like a tractor into a low sleak machine. So any tips or anyone that has done it before please get in touch.

Hi Mattie, I am running 18s on my MY99 STI V5, I recently dropped the car approx 80mm using TEIN coilover suspension (I hate the massive spaces above wheels)
I may get my arches rolled but so far no sign of rubbing. I'm putting this down to my tyre choice. I'm using falken 215/35 profile tyres, by design falken tyres come back from the rim of the wheel rather that heading outward/up as per other tyres.... this means the tyre sits further back from the potential point of contact.

Cheers mate,shes looking rather sweet, I did'nt know you could get them to go that low I think it's tyre sizes that have been my downfall i'll have to look into a change of tyres.

POC,was going to mail you but think this may interest others.
when you get a chance could you measure the distance from centre of wheel to arch. I am surprised you have no fouling problems as I measured my car today and think I am only 40mm lower front and 22mm lower rear,(compared to my 13000miles old, standard MY00 UK suspension). even at this drop with 17's I am fouling the arch lips under hard use. I have 1.5 degree camber front,1 deg rear and think adding more may cure my catching problem. do you know what camber you run?

Morning T, sorry for the delayed response, not looked at this thread for a while.
I will get the tape measure out soon and measure the distances for you, thats if I can find a level surface to put the car on! My driveways sit on a hill, look at the side pointing down the hill when parked and the RIMs sit up in the arches
Camber wise, Im waiting for mine to go into be setup and measured. Reducing the camber will pull the wheels in at the top and bring them away from the arches, Im confident that its the tyre choice on my car thats enabled me to drop without scuffing/fowling.
