Hi all

Am having the prodrive/eibach springs fitted to my bugeye on Friday.

Once done , is it ok/ready to go or do I need to go somewhere else to get tracking or whatever done.

any experiences?

thanks

ADP

unless it's done where you have 'em fitted, you'll need the geometry doing - I wouldn't think it'd be a good idea having them fitted and then driving somewhere else for geom setup - might toast a set of tyres

Powerstation? (Cheltenham) or TSL (Nottinham-ish - bit farther tho') get decent writeups... depends how darn sarfff you are

Apple

PS let me know how you get on with them afterwards re. ride / performance etc. have you had droplinks done as that helps with stability as well?

OK so heres whats happening now:

have sacked off getting it done at subaru, the garage I was going to use have a cr4p reputation so I didnt fancy it much

taking it to Powerstation on Friday for Eibachs and alignment, better price, better setup - also VERY helpful on the phone.

more when its done!

Cool

Andy,

Having my springs fitted this weekend and then the set up, ARB, ALK etc done on wednesday at Powerstation. Be interested to know what you think when yours has been done, I'm gonna change the wheels/tyres over once the set up is all done.

Keep us posted !!

Well, how did you get on???

Hopefully I'll be picking up the wheels tomorrow and I will try to get boots on them tomorrow too, but it might not be possible. And I still can't make my mind up between Bridgestones's, Goodyear F1s or Toyos...
Dirk reckons that putting the 18s on after the set up will make no difference whatsoever........but they might be on anyway depending on how things go on Saturday

Be nice to see some photies of your car nows its been done too Andy.

See you soon,

Rach

Talking

Hi all,

The deed has been done, went to see X men 2 while they did it

Looks good, nice and low but not slammed.

Still comfortable to drive, not too harsh. Brakes work much better and squirm much less under hard braking.

Handling is more precise and less wallowee, def money well spent.

Really helpful friendly guys, even if they havent put my back seat in properly which is a bit of a pisser, but think I can fix it myself.

I spoke to them Rachel and they said dont worry about the wheel size it doesnt matter at all

bill not too severe too which helped, some nice roads round cheltenham too.

On the way home Rach, take the road up the hill out of Cheltenham and follow it all the way to Cirencester, then on to Swindon, then go to Marlborough and then follow road to Ludgershall, Andover then A34 home - its a great run and well worth it.

piccies to follow soon

thanks

Apple (same initials - you're the person who stopped me registering all that time ago, then... )

lol I am the only ADP - its crap user name really, youd be welcome to it if I didnt have 2000+ posts tied up

Ok I got Eibach Eibachs, theres no way any scooby garage can set up re sprung car in the power station did, even if they think they can.

prices, er not sure call PS about it, but *roughly* 170 ish for springs, erm 75 ish for alignment and 3 hours labour - bill was 300 ish. Would have been 400 + at subaru with no alignment! like I say figs are rough.

I def did the right thing by going to PS and not Subaru!

for those kind of prices compared to others around and about it's virtually worth the extra miles from here

I've got some holiday coming up so I could be having a jolly darn sarf...

Gave the car the FULL treatment yesterday at Colerne Sprint near Bristol. I can safely say I probably push my car further than most have ever dared under these circumstances. The springs made a real difference, was well pleased

I've just had my eibachs fitted on MY01 with 18" wheels.

I was told not to have the wheel alignment at the same time as the springs will take a few hundred miles to settle and it would need doing again afterwards

Car seems to drive fine but I don't want to eat through my Toyos in 4K miles as they're brand new.

Any suggestions on having wheel alignment done in Herts/London. Don't want to travel 100's of miles

Cheers

Chris

Well chris - if thats the case im off back to *** to get it done again

I can't see that the springs "freeing up" can make any difference.

They'll just move up and down a bit free-er surely???
