Eibachs on Bugeye question

Eibachs on Bugeye question
Anyone fitted Eibach springs to their bugeye. I'm not changing from 17's on the car but wanted a little more "hug" to the road without spending too much.
I notice that quite a few peeps have put eibachs on but mainly for cosmetic reasons which is but i really want to know if they will give me a little more of a "hug" to the road feel.
I'll probably opt for front and rear droplinks soon enough but wanted to see what the eibachs would do for me first.
...........oh yeah, i've had the geometry re set on the car which is nice but will i have to get it re-set when i put eibachs / droplinks on.
Cheers

Pete how can Eibachs be for cosmetic reasons, you cant see them
one word 'Do It'
You should drive mine (I know its not a bugeye) but I have Eibachs (look identical to OE ones ) and front n rear strut braces, and now with 4 brand new Bridgestone SO3's, and going in Saturday morning for full geometry
you will get less body roll (not you, your car :P ) and the steering will feel more precise, pointy etc

Get ya money out Pete!!
I got Prodrive springs/geometry on mine and it DOES make a difference. It certainly makes the car 'hug' the road more.Am thinking about the rear drop links next for mine too...
You're more than welcome to have a drive of mine if you want (I've heard the Prodrive springs are slightly 'softer' than the Eibachs which is great for me with having my young son - I have noticed very little loss in comfort but with the springs being 'progressive rate' they tighten the handling no end)
Good luck and get that wallet open (See if the queen blinks when you open it)

PMSL @ you two
I say cosmetic coz it drops the car around 30mm
Okay so where did you two get them done. I think i know about your "publicised" one Steve I didnt know you had them done Nick, how much ?
I'll prob get them done but i to have geometry set up, will i have to get that re-done and should i do the droplinks aswell or can i leave it for a bit.
LOL i like the "auto signature" Steve

Pete, ive had my eibachs (and yes you are correct in where I had them done) fitted for quite some time now, and never got the geometry done (never had the time) now that I have Its finally going in on Saturday
I had some uneven tyre wear, which could be attributed to not having the geometry done, plus the car never felt quite right, vast improvement over std springs, but it was never perfect (also due to different tyres)

Think mine were about £165 for the springs from Monks Heath but as they owed me some money (Long story) I didn't 'pay' that kinda money. Then got Danny boy to fit em and do the geometry. Can't remember what I paid for that to be honest as it was nearly 2 years ago now I think but he's open to negotiation as we all know!!
I'd be tempted to get somebody like TSL to fit em and do the geometry or even try DP Motorsport in Warrington as I heard from a guy on here they did his geometry on his wrx and it was spot on....
I've had no probs with uneven tyre wear either since havin the springs done either

topoff
Either go back to 17" wheels (i wouldn't do that)
or
Take the eibachs off and give them to me for free
Seriously though, you will have to change one or the other. It is a traight (sp) when you have both done

Quite a few cars on here run Eibachs and 18in wheels without a problem. (Mine runs 18in wheels with Prodrive springs and has never bottomed out even four up!!)
If I were you,I'd get your motor booked in somewhere and get it looked at.It does NOT sound right at all....
Good luck

...Eibachs are well worth it (MY02 WRX) it terms of handling.
I also found that they, in combination with the laser alignment, virtually cut out altogether the annoying ABS kicking-in-unnecessarily trait which always previously happened to me under hard braking on a bumpy surface....
