Angry Costco Hard Suspension

Hi,

Just bought myself an imported 94 WRX sport wagon, tried to get it on a hoist but it was so low I couldn't, since then I have had my suspension adjusted up by about an inch, ride height is great, but its like sitting in a roller skate cos the springs are now more compressed.

I think the suspension is costco (thought that was a supermarket) at least thats what it says on the top mounts. The suspension is so hard it makes the car a pain rather than pleasure to drive, The top mounts are amodised blue aliuminium with adjustable camber and clatter really badly even driving over a painted white line, let alone a bump in the road!

Subaru want £75 a corner for rubber top mounts really and truly I just want to swap my super hard suspension for some standard kit, anyone got any for sale, wanna swap e.tc., i'm in Kent.

Cheers

M

Try speaking to HDC Subaru or Grade A (both salvage companies specialisiing in Subaru). They sometimes get standard STI suspension (version 5 or 6 are seen as very good) which would be better. They should also be able to provide top mounts.

No idea of cost but probably about the same price as just top mounts from a Subaru dealer.

Dave.

Stick it on ebay - that sort of suspension works much better on the track and is sought after.

Give me a shout once they're off the car. Got a mate who might be interested, depending on the condition.

Cheers.

Glad you got sorted out. The Cusco stuff should be worth about £300-500 depending on its condition and mileage (its about £1500-2000 new). So you should make a profit

Oh and remember to get your geometry set up properly once the other stuff is fitted, it will make it handle so much better.
