Rear castor settings for MRT strut tops?
Hello
A strange question but if somebody have castor adjustment option may be know the right answer.
I have Noltec/MRT tops front could be max castor but what with rear? There is no turn left or right does it have a sense play with castor here?
Thanks
Erik

only way castor wiil affect the car at the rear is under braking and how the car transfers it's weight into the strut.
Ever seen a porche (sp?) brake hard...
The whole car just squats down and hangs onto the tarmac, whereas the impreza tries to stop by shoving the front spoiler into the tarmac.
My guess is this is where castor plays a part on the rear.

lol
that will teach me to type without looking..
What I meant to say was: the method of adjusting the castor on the MRT rears is the same as the fronts?
ie: use an alignment jig and move the strut top back or forwards to increase/decrease castor?
(Seems to me that Erik is trying to adjust them without the alignment gear..)

the early 911's had large trailing arms and very awkward geometry 'compromise'.
the RSR racers and the turbo's had revised pivot point centres to give better control, but I think this was much due to the very wide tyres fitted to both cars (for the period).
My 911 is an old one and apart from locking the front wheels too easily brakes in a very controlled way.

Whatever vintage the porker would be running anti-squat geometry at the rear and anti-dive geometry at the front (no awd power-understeer there ). The impreza otoh has very mild anti-squat at the back and maybe even pro-dive at the front if it has an ALK. The brake dive is nothing to do with caster.
Is someone just confusing caster and camber here? The rear Noltecs I've seen like this
only have a camber adjustment.

I had a word with our main suspension guru today and it appears I was, after all, talking out of my ***.
Mind you, I still dont think even he knew what effect rear castor has on a car.
