Default Time to change shocks

Hi all , i have an STI 8 .. the shocks are terrible i have had 3 sets now and the last one on the back have lasted 2 weeks .. nigthmare my warranty is out and subaru wont pay for anymore so no way i will be forking out for that rubbish.
I need advice on what shocks to buy for the car , i am not looking for anything fancy just a replacement for the OE.

Thanks

I am in the same boat, had both rears replaced under warranty now near side rear is leaking. Are yours clunking or leaking? It seems difficult to find reasonably priced replacements for the dampers.

I'm getting my rear ones replaced by Subaru soon, they'll be the newer ones for my MY05 STi. I'm gonna put some KW coilovers straight on pretty much straight away so if you want my new STi OE ones, give me a shout

just had my nearside shocker replaced for the 3rd time. the car is out of warranty but i phoned subaru customer care to express my disgust at having to pay for something which at the end of the day is a design fault. they told me to get my dealer to submit a pwi (prior work instruction) this they did. result was i only had to pay 50% of the costs. my dealer even did the labour cost at a 50% reduced rate & parts at cost. still cost me £116 though.

hi mate yip its a digrace even getting charged for having to fit new but faulty designed parts, hope you got a years warranty cos by the sound of your experience you will do well to get a year out of it.
do you have the customer service number you called , is it a general number or just where you bought the car from ?

thanks

Just spoke to Zak at Mocom Racing he advised me to replace with KYB`s
for the standard setup. Who make the OE ones for Subaru but don`t knock
or KW coil-overs if you want to track.
The first is about £550 set plus £200 fitting and £80 geometry setup.
Give him a call Very Knowledgeable.
