Talking fitted - whiteline drop links and arb

Just fitted the 22mm adjustable rear arb and drop links (both whiteline) and taken for a quick test drive.

Surprised by the apparent difference - need a proper run to fully appreciate the difference.

Thanks to Tim and Scoobyparts - quick service and discount! Will use them again I am sure.

The only question is - what is the next DIY mod to suspension after this?

I did the same recently and noticed the difference on the first roundabout! On roads I knew well, it was obvious that the car was transformed. Mine was done at Zen, and Paul suggested the ALK as the next step, but the improvement if supposedly less obvious. If you haven't had a 4 wheel alignment done, then you should do this next . The Prodrive settings are good, but other people suggest variations on this.

Hey, got a front strut brace thinking of going with the adjustable rear arb and drop links.

Does it make a real differnce to the car, should i notice it strait away.

And how did you get a discount.

cheers

...
It made a huge difference on my 05 wrx/prodrive springs, especially when set to the hardest setting.

I'd say it would make much more difference than, say, a front strut brace...

IMHO:

Add the 22mm rear bar and links
Add the ALK / steel/alloy front links
Camber bolts in the rear, maybe the front (to allow the alignment ideal to be set in the rear)
Really good alignment job.

After that it escallates dramatically believe me!

Graham.

they made a big difference to mine, so glad I fitted the bar and the links, had a bigger drive this afternoon and well pleased, on some of my 'reference' roundabouts hardly any understeer where I normally get quite alot.

Must consider next steps though - not sure at moment.

Look out!

I can see you're on the slippy slope....

Harold:

You can make the car as hard as you dare, but you can get the car very agaile without too much harshness if you use the right parts and the right supplier.
I doubt you are as old as me.

Hey

I want the car to stay like it is but, adam at the clinic advised a rear arb to compliment the front strue brace.

Dont want comfort to suffer realy.

I'm in a similar position, having recently bought the rear ARB and steel drop-links myself.

911/Graham - I see you have listed front links, but not an upgraded front ARB - is there any reason why this would/wouldn't be worth upgrading?

someone told me that the front arb is not worth doing. the front drop links are gonna get done next month, I was wondering if it is worth having a front strut brace fitted - some say yeh and some say neh, who knows?

IMHO:
It depends on how focused you want to make the car.
A rear bar on it's own is a good mod.

My car is far far more focused for track/real competition at national level so i have 22mm front/24 rear with a 24 front waiting.

All this uprating will reduce compliance and so make the car generally less confortable.

As to front top braces, i REMOVED mine to fit a big Sti V8 TMIC and never replaced it when i went FMIC. The car is faster in a hillclimb competition run without it....

IMHO: they are bling (as I jump into the trenches now!)

Graham.

I think the front links will be enough for a while, whilst tracking the car would be nice, it is still my daily driver. Are the front links as easy as the rears to do?

Cheers

Yes, but I think you will find they are more corroded than the rears so reluctant to come apart!
