I fitted the rear 22mm and was initially disappointed with it on the recommended middle setting. It improved greatly for me on the stiffest setting and led me to believe that maybe the 24mm was more suited to my driving style. The popular wisdom is that fitting a stiffer front ARB can reintroduce the understeer, but my only experience of this is a brief drive in a T25 and my mates T20, both fitted with both bars, ALK and AST's, and understeer wasn't present in either. My WRX had virtually no understeer with the AST's and rear ARB, but my geo set-up was a little unconventional too.
To surmise, if your driving style is smooth and flowing then the 24mm bar will probably be best. Most normal drivers who use lots of braking and are less smooth will find this too twitchy and thus the 22mm will suit. Fit the rear first and then gauge for yourself whether you need to go any further.

I have the Whiteline adjustable front and rear arb's with drop links and the Anti lift kit. This has totally transformed the handling of the car for the better (IMHO). A really worthwhile mod
