they are the same, although you need to remove the "tapered cone" from the old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints or they wont fit the alloy arms

i fitted a new set to my wrx 2 weeks back

ball joint splitter will get the tapers off, i did have one so used a 24mm spanner and twatted it with a hammer
think the ball joints were about £13 from fleabay

I am having great trouble to get mine out of the hub upright.
Came out of the wishbones dead easy (too many gearbox changes) but will NOT come out of the steel hubs despite wedging the pinch pin slot open with a screwdriver and using a big pry-bar too!

Graham.

I hope i have a secret weapon.

I have drowned the joint'hub housing in WD 40 while i was prying to get them out (sorry) and with the screw driver hammerd/wedged in the slot to spread it a little. Having failed to budge the joint I re-fitted everything and have driven the car since so the WD40 will have penetrated everywhere right?

Troubled times ahead!

leave them slack and hit a few hump back bridges

i "forgot" to tighten one of the pinch bolts up on mine, and it was fine for a week then started knocking
