Fitted eibachs on a 06 wrx, help
hi guys
i have heard of eibachs springs knocking, and i can deal with that.
but
when driving along and i hit a bump or uneven bit of road i get, what sounds like a metal plate knocking (loose plate) coming from front somewhere, sometimes on the passanger side sometimes on drivers. only had it since fitting the eibachs.
i have the normal knocking from the suspension that everyone says eibachs do but this sound more serious.
all i can descirbe is metal knocking like a loose plate.
can anyone pls help, ive had a look and cant see anything loose, thought maybe a cover under the engine, but their plastic so not them.
has anyone had this on theirs
cheers

I had the same noise on my car (WRX MY05) after installing eibach springs.
That noise is generated by the spring hitting the lower spring seat.
I fixed it by putting a silicone tube over the first (bottom) coil of the spring (like on rear springs).
This "silencer" is allready applied on the original STI-spings --> see pic:
Now the noise is definitly gone (since 20000Km !!).

my car had eibachs fitted when I bought it and have had this very same noise ever since. I thought about getting a small diameter bicycle inner tube and pushing it round the bottom 1/4 of the spring as it is most definately the spring rattling in the seat. never got round to it though, the noise does my head in when on a cobbled road !!
If you jack your car up you can probably rotate your front springs as they are that loose
