Default Steering Wheel Judder when pulling away?

Got abit of a judder in the steering wheel/column when I pull away at low speeds, at firs i thought it was down to having dodgy front droplink, but I have changed that and its still there?

Any ideas?

when turning left its the worst I did change that front droplink to another OE part.

could it be the steering rack / power steering pump?

I doubt it is the drop link.
Similarly the rack/pump.

My bet would be drive shaft or general suspension joints in the lower wishbone.

graham,
rubbers in lower wishbone sounds like it as:the main bolt came loose on the inner bracket & came out.

how hard are they to change & best to replace with whiteline, polybush or OE ones?
thanks again for your info.

HOW did that come out?!

Whiteline front poly bushes are easy, remove wishbone completely, cut of rubber out (it is housed in a thin steel sleeve and can be a bitch to remove)
but the bushes slide in so easy.
New bolts and nuts PLEASE!
Graham.

no idea why it cam loose!! the alignment was done a copuple of months ago with the tein suspension. was quite noisey and over time it must have came loose and come out completely luckily no damage was done as I had come to a stop when it came out.
need to order new bolts & rubbers then & get it fixe next month.
thanks for all your help & info.

Seem the judder/notchy steering is getting worse.

This only started after the wrong droplink was fitted or could i have damaged something when i jacked the car up to get a decent height to get under it. Car was level as it was on slight slope and the wheels sitting on planks of wood.

Steering feels heavy at times when turning left and nows feels like its rattlings when pulling at all speeds at intervals?!

Found the problem!

Steering column knuckle is hitting off the new downpipe!

Is there a fix for this or is it just the cause of get the downpipe reshaped?
