Question Antiroll bars and anti-lift kits for classic....

Hi folks , ive got a 1999 RB5 and have obtained a fixed 22mm upratd rear roll bar for it. I am going to be getting alloy whiteline droplinks front and rear and front roll bar with anti lift kit as well.

Could anyone recommend what size of front bar i would be best getting for the car to suit the rear 22mm one i have?

Also, is the whiteline anti-lift kit the same for uk cars with the steel bottom arms as it is for imports with the alloy bottom arms?? The reason im asking is that i currently have steel bottom arms but will be upgrading at some point to the alloy ones and i dont want to be stuck with an anti-lift kit that fits the steel arms and not the alloy ones when i get them!!

Cheers

Kevin

ALK are a one fit solution, with various grades of rubber, comfort, race (!)...
Try 911 for advice as he's done years of work on set-up for a classic Impreza....

No doubt he'll be along shortly

AFAIK it's one size fits all with the ALK. I'd leave the front ARB alone until you know what the rear one's like.

Must add !

I fitted a rear bar to mine first and it was superb, on stiffest setting lots of oversteer....

Later I fitted a front bar for even more grip !

HTH

All depends on what you want.

You say it is a fixed 22mm rear bar. I presume then there is only one hole in the roll bar ends?

If so, i would stick with the stock front.

If it were a 3 hole adjustable bar then I would add a 22mm front and play with the hole that suits in the rear bar.

ALK are the same, just road v race hardness (I'd go for road.)

You need to focus on the alignment you gat after fitting all that to get the best from it.

Question

Yeah its a rear bar with just one hole at each end!!

If i fit this rear bar and leave the stock front bar will this help overcome the understeer problem though??

Would the fixed rear bar be the equivalent to the adjustable rear bar on softest or stiffest setting then??

Cheers lads!!

Ideally you would need to measure the lever arm length and bar diameter, or use the part number to identify the item....

As Dunx says.
The anti roll bar tends to keep the car flatter in a corner over stock of course, and thalone gives better control, but will not erradicate understeer, but will ease the issue.
To rid the Impreza of understeer you need far more than the rear bar.

The bar should be an improvement.
You sure it is not a stock bar?

The 22's are adjustable i.e. 3 holes in each end. Maybe a 24?

IMHO if you are looking for a good change in the chassis go for 22 front and 24 adjustable in the rear from Whiteline.
