Question PowerStation - Chassis Upgrade Stage 1

I was thinking about going for the Stage 1 upgrade for MY03 STI from Powerstaion...unless i can find someone that does it cheaper??

Is this worth it? Is it noticable?

Stage 1
Rear Adjustable Roll Bar
Anti-Lift Kit
Front Adjustable Roll Bar
4-Wheel Alignment
£460* + VAT

That package will enhance the car very noticably when driving the car with some spirit. It will make the car how you expected the Impreza to be!

TBH it's a long way from you (and me !)
The gear can be had from loads of places, and a couple of hours labour plus full geometry set-up and it's sorted.

I'm too far away to recommend, but someone must be nearer....

DunxC

P.S. I'd budget for drop-links as wel !

I would have thought with this type of upgrade the fitting/setting up is as important as the parts themselves. Powerstation and Mocom have had a lot of fantastic feedback from customers who have had this type of upgrade done - they're the two companies I will be looking at to get my suspension sorted.

About £30?

Powerstation are very good, they do my road/race car.

The parts are very available from various specialists around the UK. Where roughly are you?

I just noticed you are in London. Talk to Zak at Mocom (North Weald in Essex) and tell him what you want from your car, he will be able to advise the best products to fit. Is this for your new car ? I personally would drive it for a good month first to see where you feel improvements are needed, perhaps get the alignment done for starters and go from their. It's easy to waste money on mods everyone else seems to do but much better to talk to an expert and have a plan

IMHO it doesn't really work like that, whatever is the outcome of Zak's advice and your handling needs will be your 'stage 1+' Pricing wise Mocoms are really good value and the bottom line is he will never sell you anything you don't need When I had my first subaru Zak could have filled his pockets with the list of mods I thought I needed. Trusting his advice I have saved lots of money on unecessary mods and ended up with a car which was more suited to me than a more modified car that didn't fit the bill. Your in good hands and his banner can be found in the ESC club area

I don't think they are a large outfit, but from what I've read on here they are very busy. I too left an email some days ago reference alignment with no reply.

I guess you just have to keep on phoning until somebody is in the right time, right place.

Been their and done that when I owned a Newage UK STi. PowerStation installed this very same package on the car and it totally transformed it in my opinion. I recommend to everyone that asks, that this is one of the best/cost effective mods you can do to any Scoob!

Nail hit squarely on head!

A number of people I have spoken to recently seem to think suspension is the way forward initially. Whilst different suspension can make a lot of difference, I always suggest this handling kit first...... for many people, this will give them what they require.

The stiffness of the ARB. They will ask you what you want to use the car for and set it accordingly. You can adjust it yourself though afterwards, should you wish to... but you will have to get your hands dirty!

Have fun!!

Sam:
Have a GOOD talk with Curtis at Powerstation and he will give you several choices and tell you what each will do to the car.

You will not regret your choice of parts and installer.

Andy at Powerstation would do that in his coffee break. Call Rich and book him in. Put a padlock on your wallet, it is a very temping place to be...

Fitted the bits, but kept my standard shocks and springs as I like the compliance...
But just seen I've got a leaking front strut so it may have to be AST's next !

Card now or wait for payday ?

LOL
