Default BC Racing noise from rear

hi,

i fitted my bc coilovers about a 5 days ago. The Coilover is the RM type with inverted dampers...

after find the best lowering its about 30mm front and rear about 25mm because i have fitted 19" oz superleggeras with 235/35/19 tyres on it and if i go to low the make some kisses with the chassis :-)...

after that was just fine i setup the dammpers as following:

front 1 of 32

rear 5 of 32

after a day of driving with no issues i have now some metall noise when i go over bumpers or a bad road the noise is coming from back.

so i putted the rear seats out and looked how tight the rear nuts are.

and i found no issues ...

when i setup the lowering i noticed that the spring is moving in the same directory im rotating the coilover is that normal?

so next point was to adjust the dampening i set it to 1 so the softest... the nois is a little bit lowered....

but with 1 i think im driving an american car :-) to soft for me...

can anyone help me finding the problem?

sorry for my bad english...

greetings

gabe

We think its the top mounts.

i have the same inverted as you on my classic, i went for the rubber rear top mounts.

i get a knocking from the rear whe going over a medium size bump.

mine were fitted and set up by a pro, and i helpted, so i know the fitting is spot on.

i think it is just the way they are, as unless you are going some mega money, you are going to lose out on some cumforts for driving quailty

Check that the center top nut is tight.
check that the spring does not have vertical movement when the car is jacked (pre-load).
Check the rear hub nuts. (centre nut in middle of hub, they can come lose and solid top mounts transfer the noise more)

dipster.

hi there thanks but im very unsure now...

its a newage 2002 sti ..

first of all bevor i have installed the bcs i hade zero noise...

so what mi biggest question is:

where do i have to set the ride height ? is that at the shock body, do i have to turn the whole shock? or do i have to turn the plate at the spring up to go up?

the center hub is now tight as it can bee and no affect...

men im driving now my wifes car i hate this noise
