Default Fitting costs for springs?

Afternoon all,
I popped into Subaru Olney today and have been quoted £208 + VAT (minus 10% for SIDC membership!) for some PD springs for my MY06 STI.

However they way to charge £278 just for fitting! This seems a little steep even for a dealer so what did you pay including the wheel alignment?

A good independent specialist should do it in two hours and £100 (+VAT ?) sounds about right to me... advise having the geometry set up as well. Another £100 max.

How much??

Suppose I shouldn't be shocked really as it's a main dealer. As above £200 to get it all done at a max. Even then that sounds rather high.

^^^ Sounds about right, depending where you are in the country. It can be done cheaper, I've paid £60 for a 4-wheel laser alignment in the past, and 2-hours labour in my preferred garage is only £80

It's one of those jobs that doesn't take very long at all. Depends on how long the
mechanic wants to drag it out tbh.

Or just do it yourself, it's not too difficult to change springs

I'll probably hand it over to Zen to have it fitted and aligned if I go for it. Thanks all, knew I was being quoted a dealer-esque price
