Default ARB and ALK

Hi,

I have whiteline front 22mm and rear 24mm ARBs to go on tomorrow on a 2001 bug wrx wagon. Do I put both on soft? Is this the setting at the end of the bar or nearer the middle.

Also how long does the ALK take to go on? My front tyres are poor so I was going to put it on and get geometry done when I replace tyres.

both bars are thicker than standard so they will make a big difference on the normal setting, ALK i have heard they are a pain to fit.

I'll leave the ALK then. What about the arb settings?

Soft and soft?

Rear on middle, front on soft i rekon. can always change it with you having the adjustability.

If you do a search i asked the same thing not too long back.

In this weather soft/soft the last thing you need is oversteer.... in the snow.

Once it dries up you can fiddle to your hearts content. ALK is no big deal, so long as nothing is seized.

Yes soft is outer holes - more leverage so bar will twist more easily.

rear is done.

Putting a front 22mm adjustable on a bug eye. disconnected links and taken off the bits that hold the bushes and taken off the plate the undertray bolts to. The old one then slid out. The new one won't slide in though whatever angle I try.

Persuader time?

if the old one slid out easily then theoretically the new one should slide in, could be down to the new nylon bushes being stiffer, go for the persuader.

Its on. Bendy bit seems very close to the lower leg things that run from under car to under bumper. It is a whiteline BSF33Z so should be OK. Maybe the wagon is slightly different?

Yes, the wagon is different, it runs with a narrower track, you should have been supplied with the correct part....

Can someone confirm whether the BSF33Z is the correct or wrong part for a wagon? Scoobyparts sold me it. It drives OK with a knock when going over big speed bumps where it just touches the car.

It wasn't scoobyparts that sold me this, my mistake. They were very helpful when I phoned however.

It sounds like I have been sent the wrong part so hopefully it'll get sorted pretty quickly. Despite the knock the car handles perfectly:-)
