I have been told Cusco is also awesome and recommended more so than any other setup. But even though Bilstein and Leda are fantastic setup what would the Subaru Driver go for as cost is irrelevant up £2000

Has anybody actually compared the new Bilstein to say the likes of Leda or DMS to give a constructive review? Performance on track, their compliance on UK roads??

I have no doubts that they are very good but it seems that a lot of people on here are saying they're good because they are Bilstein.

The AVO coilovers could be purchased for half the price of most of the others; can the average Impreza driver really feel that much benefit from these kits?

We have Several sets of DMS in and Bilsteins, we're gonna be comparing over the next couple of months, both geat products which will all but sell themselves, we'll have to see how they stack up against each other and then it's just down to personal choice and cost?

OK spring poundage....

I run DMS suspension which has a rear spring rating of 185 lbs and a front rating of 225 lbs, this is the rating of the spring which assists both the dampening and the rolling or lack of it ...of the car...especially when at speed in and out of corners....

The greater (higher) poundage the springs then the stiffer ride/lack of roll there is.

For we that are using the car for both road and track use we have to try and find a compromise.....to much and it'll shake your fillings from your teeth....to little (as I have) and on track you will push your wheels up into the wheel arch causing both rubbing of your arch liner and slower cornering speed...not good

Anyone please feel free to add or alter my "laymans" version of the question

Mellow,thanks for that,any idea what the standard spring poundage on the Scooby is( classic STi).Also,there must be more than just the spring poundage of a fully adjustable system that determinds the cornering ability must'nt there?

So what about suspension purely for fast/hard over the tops stuff driving? Would I be wasting my time and money paying for suspesion I wouldn't be using to its max

Yes there is more than just spring poundage that effects the cornering/handling....but when all else is set up correctly, the poundage is the deciding factor on how much the car travels laterally !!!

I'm unsure of std STi springs.

Alan, unless serious track work is a requirement then spring poundage isn't going to be an issue, no matter how hard I was to push my car on A and B roads I could never replicate the race track senario even by 50%

I'm pretty sure that OE fitment springs are progressive rate.
