Default Will the Tein "Basic" coilovers (Part: QSS28-CVSS2) fit a 2007 hawkeye STI?

Hi

Not sure if anyone knows the following type of Tein coilovers or better yet has them - will the Tein "Basic" coilovers (Part No: QSS28-CVSS2) fit a 2007 hawkeye STI Type UK? These are the entry level coilovers. Their catalog seems to suggest they will fit all years 00-07, with chassis code GDA/GDB. It does include an asterix note saying "incl. STI, wheel P.C.D 100mm model only". List price £744 inc.vat. Does this mean it will fit my car?

The reason why I ask is I was recently told by my local Subaru specialist that the cheapest Tein coilover version available for my 2007 hawkeye STI were the more expensive "Super Street" (at £840 inc vat). The specialist was looking at some kind of online Tein catalog supplied for traders. And indeed it seemed to exclude the Basic version for some reason. My Tein catalog has exactly the same notes under the Super Street as for the Basic, so both should fit. Not sure what the case is. Does anyone know? It could be that my specialist just cant get hold of any entry level "Basic" versions. Does anyone have either?

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt

Tein are too hard and harsh for our road at first,i've almost bought same like you.

You are need for 5x114.3 not 5x100,and about the Tein contact Neil@Slowboy Racing he is dealer of Tein,he will help you source if you want and he will fit as well

Personally i went for HSD HR,which have amazing feedback on internet, forums etc.

How much were your HSD HR coilovers? Are they often referred to as "HR" as I've heard of HR but not HSD. Thanks for your help. How much would a specialist normally charge to fit a set of coilovers?

Hi Jura

Thanks. Yes HSD seem like very good coilovers although their price has gone up by a fair bit since you got them. Now at £770. Will need to save up unless any group buys start

When you tried Tein did you try the "Basic" coilover, or the "Super Street"?

Thanks again,
Matt

Hi Matt

contact Ben@Driftworks for best price.

We are paid £660,now £770 seems still good price against Tein.

I've tried just Tein Basic on my friend EVO and seems for me too hard and too harsh for our UK roads.

If you are looking for great coilovers,i would have look for KW,but these cost from £1k

For best prices about the Tein Neil@Slowboy Racing,i've get best price from Neil.

Tein have one great feature and this is EDFC,in car controller which you allow setting damping(up/down)

Hard Bartsard !

They are a tad stiff, but if you wanted a limo ride you'd not buy a Subaru ?

EDFC is a "toy" I honestly never mess with mine, my dentist will confirm...

P.S. If you get the top mounts they transmit more NVH into the bodyshell as well.
