Lower ball joints on alloy wishbones

I have just fitted alloy wish bones to my uk 2000 impreza They did not come with ball joints When fitting then I found out that the original ball joints don't fit the wishbones ? I've had a look on a few parts websites and they are listing the same ball joints for alloy wishbones and steal wish bones ? Can some please help ? Are the alloy wishbone ball joints different or has some one modified my alloy wishbones ? I've added a photo of both wishbone balljoint holes Thanks
just found out there are cone bosses on the ball joints!
