Default Changing rear struts on a Blob STi?

Hi Guys.

Was just wondering how much of a job changing the rear struts was on a blob sti?

Looks pretty simple but is there anything I should watch out for?

Just thought I'd save myself a few hours labour charge as I can get the struts at a tidy price from Camskill.

Any experiences much appreciated.

Easy, the 19mm bolts which hold the strut to the hub can be hard to get off - soak in PB Blaster or similar and if you've got access to a small enough rattle gun, use that. Otherwise it's breaker bar time.

You can improve access slightly by removing the rear discs and you'll need to take the rear seats out to get to the strut tops.

Thanks guys.

Think I'll give it a go.

Save some dollars on fitting.

The strut bolts can be real pigs to remove without an air gun. You'll also need both wheels of the ground on full hang or you will struggle to get the replacements back on.

Just use a jack to get them back on , put the three top mount bolts back into place and slide the bottom strut bolt in then use a jack to lift and push into place , easy peasy !
