Assuming that you're not wanting to go down the coilover route, I'm running Apex springs in my blob WRX, made in Holland using the same machines and same steel as Eibach & H&R apparently and a good bit cheaper (£130ish). They don't drop stupidly low like the Teins, I'd guess around 40mm which in my opinion looks just right for a scoob, decent ride, not too crashy and reduces body roll a good bit too so they're not dead soft. I'm running standard shocks since the prev owner had just fitted them when I bought the car, say say I'll change them further down the line. My next upgrade will be a 22mm Whiteline rear ARB and front strut brace

I recall apex springs are fairly decent, I think the general consensus is don't lower the car too much though and get an alignment set up done whilst your at it.

Yeah I've had them on a few cars now and can't fault them, a lot of people are just brand wh**es. Mine dropped around 40mm, which is about the max I would go on standard shocks. Maybe on the KYB's, if they're shorter than stock you could go for something lower but I like my ride height as it is, I do a lot of back road driving so can't have the car decked, plus I'm not into all that stance crap

I would say the STi's were probably a little bit lower but not much, you may be talking 5mm, negligible tbh, probably nothing you'd notice to look at
