Default Camber adjustment

Right i've just had the geometry done on my hawk Wrx and the rear camber came in at -2.4degrees on both sides. Is it worth doing anything to correct this or is it ok?

Hi there

This camber is too much for my liking,I would go down to -1.5 all around or if you want more camber then -2.00 should be enough for wide wheels, just keep toe at zero and you should be OK with tyre wear

Cheers Jura, I had a feeling that much camber wasn't going to be ideal.

Next question is what's the best way to correct it? Camber bolts look to be the cheapest but I'd happily pay a bit more for a solution that works better.

Hi Neil

You are running coilovers ?

If not then I would say on standard shocks running -2.4' camber is impossible, maybe I'm wrong, but I've never seen on standard shocks to run such camber

If you are running coilovers, then you shouldn't need any camber bolts to run lower camber

Did they done correct wheel alignment, because this camber is too excessive,do you have wheel alignment paperwork,if yes please can you post

Thanks,Jura

Yep I am I deed running coilovers (BC racing BR series), which I believe we're lowered around an inch.

As for the adjustment, the rear camber wasn't touched because there computer said it couldn't be adjusted (maybe taking it to a local tyre fitter wasn't my finest idea).

Here are the current measurements:

Front
Camber- left -0.48 right -0.29
Toe- left -0.02 right -0.02
Steer ahead 0.00

Rear
Camber- left -2.33 right -2.37
Toe- left -0.03 right +0.01
Thrust angle -0.02

Hi Neil

Then in yours case this should be easy if you are running coilovers,on rear shocks/coilovers you should have camber plates and I would strongly recommend to get them set to guy/company who knows how to setup them

I would try to adjust too front camber at -1.5 and rear to similar camber, toe depends on yours car,but I've set to 0 toe

Thanks,Jura

There in lies the problem, I don't think I have adjustable rear top mounts. Iirc they are optional on the BR series coil overs.

Hi Neil

Just double check yours coilovers and if they're then you should be OK

If not,I still think on standard camber bolts you can adjust camber to lower, just speak in yours area with Zen Performance or FB Tuning, they should be able to set you yours coilovers

Thanks,Jura

I would certainly get some adjustable top mounts , that way you can have the desired rear camber applied , as Jura said, for a fast road set up about neg1.5 on rear .

http://www.subaru4you.co.uk/suspension/bcbr.shtml

That's what my rear top mounts look like.

So what are FB tuning like? Seeing they're significantly closer than Zen.

So any suggestions on the best solution? I'm leaning towards adjustable lateral arms tbh.

Hi Neil

Adjustable lateral arms are more for toe than for camber, but yes you can use them too on this, but this is expensive fix and I'm sure this can be fixed easily without the adjustable lateral arms

I would strongly suggest speak with Rich@FB tuning or Paul@Zen Performance speak who is near to you and I'm sure he will able sort for you suspension without the going with lateral arms

Just due on standard non camber plates getting -2.33 camber is something what I've not seen, did you installed camber bolts at rear and to which hole you are put camber bolts?

Thanks,Jura

Would it pay to get the geo checked on a diferent bit of kit too , in case there's an error with the machine that was used .
