What oil would you recommend for a 2004 STI 420bhp? Only used in summer and weekends?

What gear box and diff oil would you recommend?

Thanks dave

Hi Dave

A 10w-50 is ideal for your engine and these are the ones that we stock.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

The Nanodrive CFS is, on paper, the best oil available, but the Pro S, Red Line and CFS are really good oils, so all are good choices for your car.

Does it have DCCD?

Cheers

Hi Dave

You need a 75w-90 GL5 oil for the gearbox and diff.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90-gear-oil.aspx

The Millers CRX NT, Motul Gear 300, Red Line 75w-90NS and Gulf Competition are ideal as top end options. The Millers TRX Synthetic/EE Nanodrive, Mobil SHC, Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus and Valvoline Synpower TDL are good, but a step down from the top oils. Fuchs Gear Syn, Motul Motylgear, Millers TRX Semi and Castrol Universal are good, cheaper options.

Cheers

Hi

As per the post above for the gearbox and diff. The gearbox takes 3.5L (5 speed) or 4.1L (6 speed) and the diff takes 0.8L.

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic in the engine and you'll need 5L.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul Sport/300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G/ULE, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

Cheers

Tim
