Installation in our 2.1 stroker demo car. Bear in mind 500 bhp is achieved using standard Sti heads and cams, this is not a big budget conversion!

Very useable turbo, not laggy for a 500 bhp unit. Priced at £995 plus vat as outright purchase. It requires a new downpipe, which we are supplying in stainless for £180 plus vat. Total of £1351.25 inc vat and delivery.
We think it'll worry the owners of any other "bolt on" !

Alan,
Very very good performance!

It won't be worrying AET Turbo's though.... just had mine on a flywheel dyno and it pissed 500bhp @ 1.8bar, but then you would expect that when it made 486bhp at the hubs!

It also made 485bhp at the fly on low boost at 1.45bar. All on VPower of course. Beat that!

Maybe it will worry most, but not all.

Can you supply a ready made modified intercooler pipe to match the rotated compressor housing, or can the housing be spun round to match the pipework of say a hybrid intercooler ?

It's built for a front mount, on the basis that you'd need one for that much power, in my view. It's an easy hook up to most systems, and we can custom make pipes if required.

Peak power at 1.8 bar for this graph.
It's all a lag/power compromise of course, but this unit certainly has one of the better ones.
We're setting up a 2.5 on one this week, so far we've seen 500 ft lbs at 4000 rpm.

Alan,
It seems a good turbo for sure.... would be interesting to see what it makes on a 2.5 and how the spread of power/torque works out (as that is the crucial bit).

The turbo you are testing certainly seems to better another well known turbo brand so far.

Good luck with the continued testing.

Much better that Turbo Technics provided a range of turbo's for Subaru's road use, which thus far they've failed to do. They produce for everything else but.

It uses a new design of elbow, an improvement over the stock set up.

We're working on it! there's another one in the pipeline, stock fittings, aimed at 400 bhp max output, and likely to be well priced.

Testing continued today! I just got news from Shakespeare County Raceway, where Martyn has just taken our demo car to a class win at 11.1 seconds with 127.8 mph terminal. This is from a fully trimmed road car!

Be interesting to see a like for like 1/4mile comparison between a 2.1 and 2.5 on the same turbo.

Keep up the good work.

If that is based on the power and fuel type ran for the above graph, that is very impressive.

Terminals prove it has the power the graph is stating.

Well done!

Is the sti5 box still going strong? How are you finding the ratios on the strip because I find myself changing in to 5th just before crossing the 1/4 mile mark, thats with a Sti6 Type R box

Just got back, fantastic day with weather to die for, no major hold ups all day and trouble free runs, although as someone stated not ideal for intake temps.

I was in fact running 50hp less today Shaun as the pump/injector combo were running flat out at 500hp, swirl pot and larger pump going in before the next event.

K18LLR, yes stock gearbox still holding up just fine so far, not a cheep out of it, lol.

It bolts onto the standard up pipe, and the oil/water lines and 3" intake are the same as everybody else's. It uses a different downpipe elbow. As the turbo and the downpipe together still cost less than some other bolt ons, we figure we have it pegged.
I think it's fair to say the turbo is aimed at the serious tuner, who doesn't mind finding something different in return for superior performance. If you take a look at the install, you'll see that not only does it look right, it is right.
Something genuinely new is rare in Subaru tuning these days, and we are well happy to be offering this alternative turbo.
