Hey Guys been looking at the KINUGAWA Turbos and want your advice on the best turbo for my car?

Given the choice of the three it would have to be the last one, the 18G will spool quicker than the other two but definitely not with a 3" or 76mm cover.

You need to be looking for a 2 1/4" cover or 57mm cover as this will give you better spool, but to be honest you are better looking for a VF34/35 turbocharger.

The turbochargers you have listed are just too big in my mind for your engine plus ancillary parts not forgetting your gearbox, anything realistically beyond 350bhp would mean that your gearbox and clutch would be on borrowed time plus you would need to be mechanically sympathetic on how you drive the car.

Have a look at the below link for a VF34/35, if they interest you speak to Adge on his mobile number and tell him that I put you onto him he way well give you a better deal as I know him.

It all depends what you want? Top end, mid range or fast spool.

But upping the power puts pressure on the injectors, clutch, gearbox, suspension and brakes. The roller coaster is pretty extensive when you get on.

I want more push back in seat feel the std turbo doesn't float my boat! I suppose midrange and punch is what I'm after if you know what I mean.

Supporting mods will include uprated fuel pump, pink injectors, 3 port boost solenoid Panel filter, 3 inch decat downpipe. decat up pipe if it ever arrives. and was thinking about a uprated oil pump as precautionary measure.

Thanks to Cannon Fodder for putting me in touch with a vf35 that was for sale.
what can I expect realistically from this turbo and how will it drive?

what is the drive like compared to td04? is there more push back in seat effect?
Thanks for graph mate!

I received my turbo today from adgespeed which needs a refurb. Fair play what a tidy company no hassle sale .

I have emailed a few turbo specialists and been quoted 195 plus vat for standard overhaul with options available for upgrades at extra cost courtesy of Turbo Dynamics

I would also contact Universal Turbo's as well for a price on reconditioning it.

on it mate cheers!

How is this for poor customer service?

The email conversation went:

Me: Hi I have a VF35 turbo which is in need of a refurb as it is now smokey and has play in the shaft please would it be possible to give me a price on a rebuild and price on a exchange unit?

Many Thanks Mark Jones

Colin Turner at Gap Turbos:Sorry we dont offer

Me:

So to confirm gap turbos do not sell turbos, exchange turbo's, repair turbos? So what exactly do you do as quite frankly, a child could have wrote a better reply to my enquiry than what I have just received....

Colin Turner at Gap Turbos:Hi Mark

Turbo VF35

We dont have any parts available to remanufacturer / repair your unit so the best we can offer you is a brand new unit for £1212.00 + vat from dealer.
