Looking to upgrade the brakes on the type R as fronts are the sti and rear are sliders which are not good to stop good power.. so looking at front and back brembos but what should be a fair price for second hand set? I know I gotta buy the handbrake conversion from Godspeed so it all fits correct on the classic.

Also try Alyn at AS Performance for the handbrake conversion, I was talking to him a few months ago about this for my classic when I bought a clutch kit for the blob a few months back.

The classic type R has the same size handbrake as the STI so you don't need the conversion handbrake shoes , the standard ones work , the only issue you will have if you have a version 3 is the backplates are the wrong ones so the brembo's won't fit on , you will either need version 4 or 5 , or 2001 onwards STi backplates
